My sweet gentle giant always looking after everyone else’s heart. Always telling us to not judge or be mean , carry our love around in a cart. You always forgave everyone.. had no bitterness against anyone…… Our visits were truly so much fun. Remember the book you started and we tried to get it done. I’ve never read anything that was so painful, bar none. Your childhood was the greatest disaster I’ve ever read about for all that you suffered.. Where was the system then…they knew but just let it be buffered. I can remember so many things you said in the book…never to our face. I think you felt shame and disgrace. Your mother was truly something else and it hurts to think of what she’s done to you. But then who cared… who bothered…sleeping under the house until you turned blue. Making you and your brother go out to steal and beating you if you didn’t get enough.. I cannot imagine how awful that was for you and too damn tough. The state didn’t do a thing to save you nor did they care. And there are many more just like you , out there. You were the most gentle person I’ve ever known , especially with your background But the state of Texas put you gurney bound. How I hate them for what they did to you .The world will never be the same, All the while, Texas thinks it’s just a game. I truly feel they got the wrong man.. I think we all know who did it And on your final day none of them wanted to talk to you , it just didn’t seem fit. Because they knew my poor Reggie that you were about to die for the murder committed by another guy We miss you honey.. and forever will keep you in our heart I know that really we will never be apart… You are with us night and day Telling us to be nice to others and the Lord to obey. Where your compassion for others came from I will never understand But you forgave everyone, -loved everyone. Your heart was like the pouring sand. Always blowing and flying around trying to make others better. I have saved every single letter. Because people could learn from your compassion Even when it is out of fashion. You were the greatest, Reggie…Always so very kind. And all you’ve taught us , you left behind. I love you Reggie…and miss you terribly…Hold a place for me sweetheart.. And that way we will never be apart. Bonnie
