FIGHT FOR LIFE

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN   

AS WE MOVE INTO 2012........

    As we move into 2012, as amazing as that it for me, being that I never thought I would make it this far, before I look forward, I want to take a step back and thank everyone who read what I had to say... who spent just one second thinking about me or anything I have written.   But more than that, I thank you for your support of all those who allowed me into their lives,

    It is so hard to imagine (if we can), the pain that one faces on Death Row,  I have listened to some of the most amazing stories, some left me pissed and others heartbroken,  But as sure as I stand here to, I find myself with a feeling of pride,  I am optimistic and hopeful, because just as I have seen some of the ugliest things, I have also seen some of the most beautiful.... and I have been a witness to them all right here in prison.

    Life puts us in positions where we can only do one of two things : succeed or fail,  It is so easy to come here and just give up, but I have seen men and women find themselves here, but you will never know it if you are not watching,

    The problem with killing is that it takes away the chance to change, to feel, own up to the things you have done.  I find myself fighting against the need to argue my point, besides there is a simple point to it all; it goes against the human spirit to kill...  or at least it should.  Knowing this, it breaks my heart to know that so many people scream for death as though it were life.  Are they any better than the actual killers... or just like them ?  The very ones they despise, how poetic.

    But that is a fight for another time, today I am just thankful.  2011 was a year of learning.  I can only hope that 2012 will be a year in which I can paint better pictures for you all, a year in which, I can do a better job as a writer... and most of all, the year that death penalty ends.
