I’m faced with the impossible
By Tyree Bailey
I’m alive, but I’m faced with the impossible,
Today I call on a higher power, because this hurt…
This realization, I can’t face alone.
So, just as I’m faced with the impossible,
I too, ask it of you Lord.
Give me a moment of rest, a chance to breathe…
Because sleep is non-existence and day are suffocating,
Like a child about to drown.
And in spite of all that, it’s still impossible.
Everyday I get a little weaker, because I remember you…
Your voice, your touch, your smell, and I swear it’s impossible.
Impossible to forget, and just the same to remember.
Oh, but I do remember, and upon thought,
I remember everything : my hopes, my dreams, and most of all;
I remember life….real life.
And at that very instant, I exhale, because I know I’m alive…
And so are you too…”HERE” inside of me.
But at least I know the impossible is sometimes asked of us;
In both love and life.
So, I take a deep breath, as my eyes shed an ocean of tears,
For you, the only thing I know,
As I’m faced with the impossible : letting go.
