In Memoriam of Luis Ramirez

Luis Ramirez has been executed on 20th of October 2005.
CFTJ was supporting him for some time.

Professing his innocence, Luis Ramirez was executed Thursday night for organizing and carrying out what authorities said was a murder-for-hire scheme that culminated with the shotgun slaying of a San Angelo firefighter who was dating his ex-wife.

"I did not kill your loved one, but I hope that one day you find out who did, I wish I could tell you the reason why or give some kind of solace. You lost someone you love very much, the same as my family and friends are going to lose in a few minutes. I am sure he died unjustly, just like I am. I did not murder him. I did not have anything to do with his death."

Luis is dead, and indeed we, his friends, we are devastated and horrified…… devastated to lose a man we loved and horrified because we know that the wrong man has been put on the gurney on the end of the afternoon of the 20th of October 2005.

Prosecutors described Ramirez as a jealous ex-husband, so obsessed with his former wife that he paid $1,000 to an accomplice to help with the plot that resulted in Nandin's death.

All of us we knew that Luis was really very far to be a jealous man… We would laugh if it was not so sorrowful !

I ask myself….

Is Texas a better place now that Luis is not alive anymore ? I doubt, I really doubt as the guilty is still walking free in the streets…

He claimed his innocence till the drug killed him … Luis was a very religious person and he would never have lied before meeting his Creator

There’s someone, female or male, who is somewhere in Texas who knows that Luis paid for the crime he/she committed…..
Does she/he feel some remorse ? I doubt ! maybe she/he appreciates the fact that a beautiful human being has been assassinated for his/her crime? Life must have a particular ” taste”  when another life is taken for one’s crime…maybe !

Luis is dead ! for nothing, without any reason…….

Myriam

To know you, was like knowing what goodness feels like -

You mean a lot to my familia so I want people to know what you are like.

Even though they robbed my family October 20th, 2005 -

There's this loving feeling...you left us with a smile.

You knew how to make the worst situation to be funny -  If you were in control of the weather, you could make a rainy day very sunny.

You gave me advice when it came to my children -   Using examples as you told stories of your own children.  The love you express, your eyes widen, your smile ear to ear -  It's the feeling I want when I talk of my children not allowing to be  brought down by fear.

You kept strong all the way to the end -
When they strapped you on the table, you left with a smile, that's the  message you send.

You're my friend, mi carnal, my shadow -
Now you're my guide, my mentor, you'll be there throughout my battle.

Living day by day running into young men -
Men who are like the old me. Just as you are to me, I'll be for those lost men.

Reliving the stories, just like you were here -
Giving these young men ass whoopings in basketball, just as I did to you when you were here.

"Hey, I got news for you, I left my vesino at "0" games" - After every whooping, I'll remind them of how that smile appeared
on your face when you stole that 1 game.

Holidays are here, I'll spread your love -
I'll share what little I have to those who don't have any. I'll show them  your love from above.

Thank you mi carnal for being such a blessing and a big part of my wife's heart -

All our souls will unite, we'll never be apart.
I can't be sad. For some reason I have joy -

Now you're in that mountain of gold. Rejoicing with happiness.

I'll be fighting to get on that golden bridge so  we can all rejoice as thunder roars through the sky from millions of voices -
Just knowing you're one of the millions, I'll be sure to hear for yours.

My wife and I will talk to the wind -  Take it and run with it. Take it where no wind has ever been.

Tu Carnal

There are two days one should never worry about.  Yesterday is in the past and tomorrow may never come.  Live for today as if it were your last!

Luis Ramirez

"I was hoping and praying this moment would't come to pass or I'd have to sit here writing these words to be read.

Yet, for reasons beyond our mortal understanding God felt the need to call our dearly beloved friend and brother Luis

Ramirez home. So if I may, I'd like to take a moment to say a few words in his memory and extend my sincerest  condolences to all his family out in the world and his friends both  here and out there alike who came to know, care and love Luis as we did. For he was certainly a dear friend and  brother to me.

I had the greatest pleasure and honor to have known him, before he was suddenly and prematurely taken from us all before his time. Yet, to know Luis was to love him for his remarkable infallible spirit, his caring nature, a man  of Principle, Honor and Integrity who stood behind his convictions no matter what... but more than this he was a loyal, devoted and proud father and son, brother and nephew to all his family!!! Thru out  the years he never ceased to speak of his love for his children... Eric Ramirez, Chelsea Ramirez and Esteban Ramirez,  who he cared about and loved with all his heart!

So if you are out there listening, know your daddy loved you all and spoke often of you to me these past few weeks. So  continue to love him, cherish him and keep him in your heart and thoughts, so he may always live on within you...plus all his family and loved ones too. My heart goes out to you all during this hard time but I'd like you all to rest assured that he did know the Lord and is now by his side.

So lift that chin up and wipe your tears away as we all  know Luis would want you all to smile and laugh being the character he was making jokes and pulling pranks. I am positive  he is up there in Heaven now looking down upon us with that glitter in his eyes right before he gets ready to play a prank or hit you with a funny joke. *smile* One more thing  before I leave you all... I spoke to Luis for hours on a couple of nights right before he was taken from this world to be with God. His thoughts weren't of himself... instead they were on his children, family and close personal friends, who were to remain behind.

Since Luis isn't here to write it himself... I would like to thank some of his friends for their friendship to him that meant a lot to him. If I have forgotten a few names, please forgive me but I'm trying to recall them all from memory and conversations we had okay. A special Thank You goes out to: Linda Amador and her twin sister Lisa, Nadine Broxton (which, by the way I heard what you said on naming a certain food after him in your county. I'll be sure to let him know that when I join him soon okay!), Myriam from Belgium, his friend Kerry from England, his friend Kerstin from England and all others I left out but you know who you are. Luis had you all on his mind and spoke of you often down here.

God bless you all and remember so long as Luis Ramirez continue to live on in your hearts and thoughts, he will always be there with you... for we all have fond and funny memories to hold on to.

I'll leave now with the same respect I entered when writing this...

Sincerely yours

A friend and brother of Luis Ramirez
