Fighting against Death Penalty since 1999
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN...
Luck Bear's words...... By Tyree.
I stand against the death penalty because I believe that no one is beyond redemption. No one in life is without fault... No one is without potential, no one is beyond hope !
I know what I did, and I carry the weight of my actions with me every single day. I am guilty, and I owe a debt to those I hurt... maybe it should be my life... maybe not, but I know death, in any way is ugly.
I find myself thinking about the kids of the world... the kids that are here with me, and I can't help but think, what if we educate them... what if we give them a real view of life... of their lives. I can't help but think that they too will be moved by the sight of real life, and the power of hope.
Life is what we fight to uphold... what we fight to protect, don't you think that that same passion, that same sense of pride should be displayed to all who live and breath in this world ?
We stand for something as human beings, even when it is hard to... even when it is hard to do the right thing, we do it. I'm not pretty, nor am I perfect but I know the value of life... both from knowing what life is all about now, and from the pain that sits on my chest daily from the life I took.
A man with a heart doesn't kill, and if by chance he does, he will regret it for the rest of his life... an entire country... countries all over the world should have the same conscience don't you think ?
Forever Grateful,
Lucky Bear,
Author's note – As usual, I enjoyed working with Luck Bear, he was very serious, and he had a clear vision of what he wanted to say. Hindsight is 20/20, so they say, but I think we all know that nothing in life is clear all the time, not even the benefit of hindsight. Ideals ad morals, they come from upbringing and life experience... life is continuation, a constant learning adventure, whereas death is still... final.
I hope that all of us who stand for life, know that we all owe something to each other... to not know that means that you have not taken stock of your own life and the value of it.
Luck made me see that being human isn't always as clear, cut, and dry as we want it to be... It's muddy, it's blinding, but it is real. Think about that when you have a quiet moment... Think about every single person who sits and waits to die, and if the reality of it doesn't hit you with a sense of urgency... well nothing will.
Be safe and take care you all !
With Respect,
Tyree
