Clemency Hearing Date: July 9, 2009

The reasons for clemency are listed below along with the link to the petition.

* Jason Getsy was sentenced to death for his involvement in a murder-for-hire homicide.
* John Santine, the defendant who initiated, contracted for, and paid for the murder was sentenced to life imprisonment. Two additional defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment. The Ohio Supreme Court expressed its dismay about these inconsistent results. Governor Strickland should commute this sentence and thus overcome the sentencing inequality.
