SHADOW'S INTERVIEW BY TYREE

Damn ! Life just unfolds before us so fast ! I don't even think I had a chance to enjoy or experience much in my own, But I learned this fact of life when I came to Death Row at 19. Suddenly I was 29 before I knew it.

Yep, I have a ton of regrets. I wish I had been a better son, a better student, a better father. See because I wasn't there for my mom when she died or before that when she needed me.... I never learned to read or write either... And I have a 20 years old daughter who doesn't even know me... But more so, I wish I had never killed and robbed a man.

I am guilty, and I asked for death. Some may call me a coward for that but for me it is best. So why am I here speaking with Tyree ? Because I have seen two people go home because of wrongful conviction.... And I have seen the looks on the faces of men going to the chamber, it is the most crippling sight. No man... No hand – not even a hand as mighty as the State has the right to kill... There is no such thing as a “Justified Killing” !

I don't know, you just get tired of seeing people walk that last walk...You just get tired, you now ? So many people sit behind these walls hopeless...They give up on everything. I just want that to stop. I hope that's what the people who read this are in it for, because what you give isn't only a chance at life, you give hope, and that in most cases is life !

There's only so far that words can take you – I hope mines bring you inside these walls... Into the hearts and minds of every single man and woman all over the world waiting to die ! Become a prisoner of sorts yourself because that is the only way you will truly understand, that way you can paint our own picture... and form your own bonds with those you help.

My disorganized and untrained thoughts won't ever make a masterpiece but I hope they made good motivational pieces time ticks while we sit... Thus people die. Lets make our time count.

I have come to believe it's the simple things and not the grand that make the biggest difference – so please – simple put us in your hearts for real. And I can honestly tell you, by doing so, you will have already made the difference between life and death for us.

Shadow was great ! He amazed me with his speaking ability. He is very passionate and honest in his way to “fight”. These guys have taught me so much... I have been educated by the men and women of D/R. Simply amazing ! You know, they say nothing last for ever... That is a lie ! Love does... Real Love never dies ! Prove me right !
