I want to take this time to give the State of Illinois a big thank u for their killing of the death penalty !! It's a big win for us !!!
I also want to thank the men and women who died fighting for this day. So many have been strapped down and murdered. They are the ones who inspire me. Facing your own death with respect is no easy task.
I also want to thank all the families of those killed... I hope that you all take a little comfort in knowing that one State has heard you.
And to all the soldiers out there who have fought this fight for years, I thank you ! It's hard to continue to get up after you have been knocked down so many times, but you all have not only gotten back up, you came back for more. I take my hat off to you.
I know it's kind of hard to smile after living so much pain, but we are not smiling for this slight victory, we are smiling because of life... even though inside you still shed a million tears for the lives lost.
Life occurs in steps, one by one... one step has been made, I look forward to the next. One life, one world, one love, one us, that's what I stand for, that's what I'll die for.
